General Practice: Foundations for a Stronger Future
How can practices ensure they are prepared to face the future in a changing NHS? What are the key steps necessary to build a strong and sustainable partnership? Whatever your practice plans, this event will help you take an in-depth look at four key areas, highlighting both current issues that affect the security of all practices and future development options.
This will be a free event organised by Humberside LMC in partnership with BMA Law. Sessions will be delivered by specialist lawyers from BMA Law and Mills & Reeve.
The event will be of interest to GP Partners, Practice Managers and other practice staff who would like to learn more about these key issues.
There will be four workshops which will be repeated throughout the day, ensuring all delegates can attend each one:
- Partnership
A holistic look at the modern partnership – core elements of a good partnership agreement; when and what to review; common issues which cause partnership disputes and how to mitigate.
- Premises
A look at practical premises issues, touching on the different matters that affect owned and leased premises.
- Mergers (including super partnerships)
What do we actually mean when we talk about ‘mergers’? Issues to consider and plan for including core contracts, pensions, inspection and due diligence.
- New Models of Care
What do we mean by new models of care? What ‘models’ are we talking about? What do all the acronyms (ICS, ICP, ICO, PACS, MCP) all mean in practice and how do these things differ from one another? How do GPs fit into this picture? What is the direction of travel with regard to capitated budgets and risk/reward opportunities?
This is a full day event. Please only book a place if you plan to attend for the full day. We are very pleased to be able to offer free places and would ask that you help us by letting us know of any change in plans as soon as possible. If you book a place and are no longer able to attend, please transfer your place to a colleague or cancel it as early as you can so that it can be offered to another delegate.
Refreshments will be provided throughout the day and a buffet lunch will be served.
