6 Session Salaried GP
We are looking for a 6 session GP to join our two partner, two site practice covering 6,500 patients in beautiful North Yorkshire. We are a Systmone practice. Our main site is located in Catterick Village with our branch surgery 5 minutes drive away in Colburn, on the edge of Catterick Garrison. We are close to the market towns of Darlington, Northallerton and Richmond and to the North Yorkshire Moors. It’s a lovely place to live and work.
Our team currently comprises 2 GP partners, 2 salaried GPs, Clinical Pharmacist, Nurse Manger, Practice Nurse and 2 Healthcare Assistants. We also benefit from having an excellent, well led admin team headed up by our long service PM. We are working closely with our PCN with its developing ‘ARRS’ practitioners, who are all very welcome in practice.
We are a well established training practice and have close long term ties with the Northallerton GP training scheme. We have hosted FY2 GP placements for over 10 years. We are also developing our commitment to medical student teaching, increasing our involvement over the last 2-3 years with the HYMS medical school.
Training and Collaborative Working form the heart of our Practice. We would be a good fit for anyone who doesn’t want to work in isolation but especially for GPs recently through CCT, if you enjoy working as part of a close team and if you are comfortable being involved in training and supervision. We have daily debrief together. We don’t work a traditional on call system choosing instead to share the daily workload equally and in close communication. We support one another through the day. Our system has served us and our patients really well.
We as a practice, look for opportunities to expand our clinical roles including LARC and joint injection clinics, further teaching opportunities and in seeking qualifications in areas of clinical interest. We would support our successful candidate to develop their own areas of clinical interest to further the scope of their practice.
We are a low visiting practice. We supervise two large local nursing homes with comprehensive ARRS support. We offer AccuRx e-consultation with protected clinical time within surgeries for answering a small number of daily queries. Our surgeries comprise a mix of telephone triage, telephone consultation and face-to-face appointments. Our days are busy of course, but we tend to finish together and on time.
Ideally, we would look for an October 2022 start date but could be flexible to accommodate the right person. We would be keen to offer informal visits either remotely or in person. Come for a look around and meet the team.
