Since 1994 Julia has worked in General Practice, building her portfolio of skills to include practice nursing and management of long term conditions. As her career developed she later extended her role becoming a nurse practitioner and independent prescriber.

Julia continues to work as a Nurse Practitioner in a large inner city practice in Portsmouth City, maintaining her own professional skills and acknowledging the increasing demands and burden placed on Primary Care services.

Julia O'Mara qualified as a Registered General Nurse in 1989, and has experience in many fields of nursing and teaching.
