Taking place online from 19 to 30 April 2021, the conference will be bringing back our prestigious Named Lectures, Professional Interest Groups and abstract programme alongside a range of multidisciplinary sessions to update and educate healthcare professionals, researchers and scientists in the field of diabetes. Our three-track programme will take place over lunchtime and late afternoon slots to ensure DUKPC21 offers flexibility for learning opportunities, supported by an on-demand option.

Conference programme
Our three-track programme is designed by healthcare professionals and has something for everyone each day, spanning disciplines from primary to specialist care, podiatry, paediatrics and dietetics. So it will leave you with the diabetes knowledge you need to provide the best care for your patients.

- New technology in diabetes, including speakers such as Dr Emma Wilmot, former Chair of the Diabetes Technology Network and Professor Roman Hovorka.
- Dr Joan St John will be leading a symposium on how we can improve the engagement and outcomes for people of African and African-Caribbean origin.
- The potential of immunotherapy for the prevention of type 1 diabetes chaired by Professor Colin Dayan, who leads the Diabetes UK/JDRF Immunotherapy Consortium.
- The growing problem of type 2 diabetes in children and young adults, considering pharmaceutical, dietary and surgical solutions.
- How we can re-shape diabetes services post COVID-19, chaired by Professor Jonathan Valabhji.
- The introduction of Primary Care Small Bites – practical advice on the management of different aspects of primary diabetes care.
