Introduction

This practical session is aimed at Practice Managers, Business Managers and Managing Partners, and will explain and demystify the claims process.  Drugs Income is the money received for the Personally Administered Items purchased by the practice.  It is claimed via the monthly FP34 claim and paid by PCSE.  Most practices under-claim due to the inherent complexity of the process and Drug Payments.

Objectives

During this 2 hour interactive session we will cover:

  • What are ‘Personally Administered Items’
  • How to identify the PA Items the practice purchases
  • An improved process for managing PAIs
  • How to complete the PPA/FP34 claim
  • Understanding PCSE Drugs Statements

As the session is live, there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions of the trainer, who will provide tools and tips that enable immediate improvements to be made.

Trainer

Richard Hole is a director of Ash Lane Consulting.  Along with wife Tracy (a former Practice Manager), Ash Lane are the recognised experts in all aspects of managing Personally Administered Items and maximising PCSE Drugs income.  Their training is derived from the experience gained working in Practices where they implement a range of processes to streamline practice operations and increase profits.

Please note this session will NOT be recorded

Subsidised Booking Options

Wessex LMCs hold a number of funds for different organisations, specifically for training purposes.  By using these funds, many of our 'members' are able to access training without direct recourse to Practice Funds.  It is important that you select the appropriate funding option in the booking process, so that we can assign your booking to the correct funding stream, and here is some guidance to help you decide.

All GPs and Members of Staff working within GP Practices in the Wessex LMCs' catchment area

Please use this option if you are working in a Practice in the Wessex LMC catchment area and do not fit into one of the other options on offer.  This option may, or may not, have a cost attached.

BaNES Staff

Bath & North East Somerset (BaNES) Practices have given Wessex LMCs some of their training budget, to be used for their staff (not GPs) only.  To access this funding you must be working in a Practice in Bath or North East Somerset and not be a GP.

Non Members

Please use this option if you are not working in a Practice in the Wessex LMCs catchment area.

NB: Unfortunately, some of your colleagues have previously booked places and not attended, preventing others from doing so.  It must be stressed that the above options are not ‘FREE’ they are funded from NHS monies, all of which must be accounted for.  If, therefore, you select one of these subsidised options, and do not attend, or fail to cancel more than 2 weeks in advance, you will be charged the full member delegate fee.  To cancel your booking please email: Lead@wessexlmcs.org.uk at least 14 days before the event date.
