Introduction

This session is aimed at HRT prescribers, GPs and Advanced Practitioners. This is not suitable for general practice nurses.

Building on the outlines webinar 'Menopause Webinar – hints and tips for a successful consultation' this session will provide more detailed practical help for those with some experience of prescribing HRT

  • Are you already an HRT prescriber and want to ensure you are up to date?
  • Do you have a sound understanding of the basics of menopause care and prescribing HRT and want to build on this?
  • Do you want to unpick the finer details?
  • Do you want to learn more about the nuances of menopause care and HRT?

If you answered YES to any of the above then this webinar is for you!

Dr Camilla Janssen talks to Dr Sarah Gray, a menopausal specialist, as they delve into the world of menopause. They will discuss in more detail, some of the finer points around HRT and menopause, unpicking some of the latest evidence and guidelines, to ensure that we are up to date with our current prescribing and information in this area.

The webinar will use a case-based format to cover points such as:

  • Latest controversies
  • What to do when the standard regime’s do not seem to work
  • Mood problems at menopause
  • Managing patients who are complex
  • Managing unscheduled bleeding

Trainer

Sarah Gray has spent over 30 years delivering Women’s Health in Primary Care. She has been a GP in Cornwall since 1992 and ran an NHS menopause referral clinic for 15 years until this was decommissioned to save funding costs in 2016.

She sat on the British Menopause Society Council for 10 years and was a member of the groups who developed NICE guidance and Quality Standards for Heavy Menstrual Bleeding. She is now an executive director of the Primary Care Women’s Health Forum and a Training Program Director for the Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Health. Sarah provides clinical governance to the public heath arm of Cornwall Council. Her latest textbook chapter was published in July 2020.

We are recording this session and it will be available here for 12 weeks after the event at a cost of £55 for members of Wessex LMCs and £115 for non members

Subsidised Booking Options

Wessex LMCs hold a number of funds for different organisations, specifically for training purposes.  By using these funds, many of our 'members' are able to access training without direct recourse to Practice Funds.  It is important that you select the appropriate funding option in the booking process, so that we can assign your booking to the correct funding stream, and here is some guidance to help you decide.

All GPs and Members of Staff working within GP Practices in the Wessex LMCs' catchment area

Please use this option if you are working in a Practice in the Wessex LMC catchment area and do not fit into one of the other options on offer.  This option may, or may not, have a cost attached.

Hampshire and Isle of Wight - AHPs & Nurses

We are delighted that NHS South East have agreed to fund this course for all AHPs & members of the Nursing Team working in Practices in Hampshire and the Isle of Wight.  To access this funding you must be an AHP or  member of the Nursing Team working in a Practice in Hampshire (excluding North East Hants) or the Isle of Wight.

Non Members

Please use this option if you are not working in a Practice in the Wessex LMCs catchment area.

NB: Unfortunately, some of your colleagues have previously booked places and not attended, preventing others from doing so.  It must be stressed that the above options are not ‘FREE’ they are funded from NHS monies, all of which must be accounted for.  If, therefore, you select one of these subsidised options, and do not attend, or fail to cancel more than 2 weeks in advance, you will be charged the full member delegate fee.  To cancel your booking please email: Lead@wessexlmcs.org.uk at least 14 days before the event date.
