This event is suitable for PN's, NP's, PCP's and HCA's (only if done a 2 day course before)
For Nurses requiring an update, not relevant for Nurses using as a new skill.
Refresher on:
- Understanding of basic anatomy and physiology of the ear
- Understanding of the prevention of ear problems, considering the patient holistically
- Foundation of knowledge on which to base practical aural toilet, wax instrumentation and ear irrigation according to their own level of practice competence
- Understanding of decontamination in relation to ear care
- Understanding of documentation in relation to ear care
- The ability to undertake ear care within the boundaries and limits of their professional competence, responsibility and accountability
