This course meets the requirements of the Core Curriculum for Immunisation Training of Healthcare Support Workers.

This HCA flu update is key training for any HCA delivering flu vaccination and also contains knowledge of other relevant vaccinations.

Content:

• Review available resources for health care professionals and national standards for immunisation training
• Basic Immunity and vaccine composition. Different types of vaccines
• Cold chain
• Flu and pneumococcal programmes 
• Flu and pneumococcal case studies
• Legal aspects of vaccination, including consent & patient specific directions
• Shingles programme 
• Anaphylaxis
