Where Can I Purchase an iPad?

The cheapest available model is the iPad Air for £319. Delivery is usually two working days.

Cheaper refurbished iPads are available from Apple or from third party websites like Amazon. You can expect to pay around £210 – £270 for a refurbished iPad. These are all suitable for use with our FFT app except the original iPad 1.

Where Can I Download the App?

The app is for iOS only and can be downloaded for free from the app store. You can search for fourteenfish (our company name, all one word) to easily find it – just look for Patient Feedback.

Do I need Wi-Fi to Use the App?

The app is designed to be used offline without Wi-Fi or 3G. Answers and data are stored on the app automatically.

Wi-Fi is only needed once a month to upload the data to the website database. This process happens automatically and all the information is stored together generating a single report rather than separate reports for each method of data entry. However there is the ability to see how many responses you get for each entry method on the reports page.

How Do I Lock the iPad to Show One App?

To restrict the iPad to just one app guided access needs to be enabled on the iPad. This can be done by going to Settings > General > Accessibility > Guided Access. 

On this page you can toggle the on/off button and set a password for guided access. Once set, click on the Patient Feedback app and press the home button three times. A few options for the app will then appear. The default settings are fine to use so once happy press ‘Start’ in the red circle and the session will begin.

To end the Guided Access session press the home button three times again and enter the password you previously set.
