This is a great opportunity to make a difference for your patients with experience of domestic violence and abuse and sexual violence.

We are looking for a local, practising clinician with a specialist interest in domestic violence, abuse (DVA) and sexual violence (SV) to become the Clinical Lead (CL) for IRIS (Identification and Referral to Improve Safety) in Northern Devon.

IRIS is an evidence-based domestic abuse training and referral programme developed specifically for general practice, currently being delivered across 39 areas of England, Wales and Northern Ireland. Devon and Torbay are leading the way by integrating sexual violence into this model – see attached flyer. The role involves working closely with a specialist in domestic and sexual violence to promote the IRIS programme across the area, recruit practices, deliver in-house training at the practices, and act as a source of advice, guidance and support for clinical colleagues on the subject of DVA and SV. IRIS will provide the required training for this role and ongoing support is provided through regular IRIS Steering Group meetings.

The role is for a period of 12 months (initially) from 1st April 2020 and requires up to 30 - 46 hours (max) over 12 months in this second year of the Devon and Torbay IRIS pilot, at an hourly rate of £59 an hour (based on local LMC GP sessional rates).

The Northern Devon Clinical Lead post will be working with up to 12 GP practices across the locality.
