Fixed Term GP Development Role – Townsend House Surgery

We are offering a 12 month fixed term development role, ideally suited for a newly qualified GP looking to cement their existing skills and develop new ones in a protected environment, with no list or duty doctor work initially. You will also be supported with weekly mentoring, and funding to pursue further qualifications such as a PGCCE, and over the 12 months will develop your skills so that by then end you would be confident working in any area of UK general practice.

Start date August 2020

  • Teaching and Training practice, GP registrars, foundation pharmacists, medical and nursing students.

  • 12 minute appointments, daily informal get together and clinical brainstorming.

  • Weekly meetings with an assigned mentor and bi-weekly clinical and practice meetings with the wider teams are held to ensure continued professional development and support.

  • Highly supportive of Portfolio GP development with current GPwSI in ENT, looking to expand this service.

  • Actively partake in primary care research, with a long track record of innovation in service delivery.

  • In house practice Pharmacist free up GP time.

  • Long history of extended scope practice.

  • Welcoming of patient and staff feedback to maintain a highly effective, supportive, and friendly Team.

  • We support patients being treated locally at home by our award winning Seaton Hospice at Home.

  • We work with other local practices to deliver services across the Axe Valley and are members of East Devon Health.

  • Only 30 mins travel time from Exeter, would suit doctors based in Exeter, East Devon or West Dorset.
