We have a vacancy for a 6 session GP, ideally working Thursday and Friday each week with either a Monday or Wednesday to suit the successful candidate. We are also open to considering a non-list holding Triage Duty GP who would then work solely in our Same Day Team. Either way, we are looking for a dynamic GP who is keen to work in an innovative and forward thinking practice that has diversified our team to share the workload, particularly from the administrative side. This includes an Advanced Nurse Practitioner and Triage Nurse running our Same Day Triage service, a Senior Pharmacy Technician to support prescribing, a Medical Reports and Patient Data Coordinator to complete medical reports, subject access requests and assist with safeguarding. We also have Patient Pathways Leads to support the Same Day Team as well as work with eConsults, 2 week waits, referrals and tasks and we have upskilled our Patient Services Team to assist with workflow and documentation management.
We have a broad skill set amongst the team so are not looking for any particular speciality or area of interest, instead we are open to all GP applicants with a view to supporting them with their preferred areas of primary healthcare. You do need to be flexible in your approach, adept at problem solving, open to new ideas, passionate about patient care and wellbeing, and inspired by the wider NHS plans and opportunities, such as Primary Care Networks. We are also looking for applicants who are compassionate, resilient, calm under pressure, have excellent communication skills and have a teamwork mentality with a good sense of humour. In return we can offer:
- An established Practice with energy and appetite for growth and finding new ways of working
- Majority of appointments are 15minutes
- Financial support for relocation to Devon
- Competitive base salary
- Optional project work available to suit your interests and skill set with additional remuneration to enhance your pay
- Opportunity to take on a specific area, or areas, of responsibility with additional remuneration to enhance your pay
- Future partnership opportunity, either as full equity or fixed share with reduced responsibility and risk
- Collaborative working across all teams and with our Primary Care Network and other groups looking at the wider locality/population
- Good Practice staff reward scheme
- Proactive staff wellbeing and support of work-life balance – currently working on achieving our Wellbeing Charter accreditation
- Encouragement and support with external interests and opportunities you may have
Cricketfield Surgery is a friendly and caring primary healthcare practice that believes in nurturing the wellbeing of its staff as well as patients. An established and thriving practice, operating for over 25 years, with a current list size of just over 10300 that is steadily increasing. Newton Abbot is a bustling market town surrounded by beautiful countryside with the coast and Dartmoor nearby, as are the vibrant cities of Exeter and Plymouth so it’s a fabulous part of the world to be based. We also work closely with other GP practices in the local area within our Primary Care Network and wider Federation. We support the training of both postgraduate GP trainees and medical students, are often involved in research projects, we successfully bid for and trialled a nurse-led social prescribing project within our Practice and are dedicated to continuous improvement of the Practice and its employee development. We currently have 5 GP Partners and 3 salaried GPs, and then have 32 other staff members across a variety of clinical and administrative roles. We are a busy practice who work hard but also have a sense of fun and aim to make all team members feel integral to its success.
