We need you: supporting the wider healthcare community over the winter months

Consider supporting Devon Doctors Group over the winter period.

As the provider of the Integrated Urgent Care Services, comprising NHS 111 and urgent out-of-hours care, in both Devon and Somerset, this is invariably a critical period for us – all the more so this year, coming, as it does, in the midst of a global pandemic and with Think 111 having just gone live.

In these extraordinary times, Devon Doctors and Meddcare Somerset remain committed to Putting Patients First; doing all we can to provide the best-possible care, while at the same time protecting our ambulance services, our hospitals, and our primary care teams.
Now more than ever, we need capable, conscientious, and committed clinicians to bolster our teams. As a 24/7 operation, with bases across Devon and Somerset, the chances are we can find an opening which utilises your skills and fits in with any other personal or professional commitments you might have. In return, our clinicians benefit from an extremely supportive working environment, ongoing training and education, and generous rates of pay, which are enhanced over the Christmas and New Year period.

So, whether you’re interested in picking up one or two shifts a month as an out-of-hours clinician or a NHS 111 clinical advisor, a full-time salaried role, or something in between, we’d love to hear from you.

Since a CQC inspection in the summer, we have implemented a number of well-received improvements, which are already impacting significantly on service performance and staff morale. For example, our Clinical Assessment Services are now routinely overseen by a Lead Clinician, who has oversight of the clinical queues and is responsible for liaising with operational colleagues to ensure patient safety is never inadvertently compromised.

Currently available salaried roles can be found under the Vacancies section on our website, www.devondoctors.co.uk/ vacancies . Alternatively, if you are a GP seeking sessional work and would like to find out more about becoming a part of our friendly and enthusiastic team, please contact our clinical administrator Laura Benfield, who can be reached via ddooh.gp@nhs.net or on 0300 3031722; nurses and paramedics are asked to email ddooh.clinicalworkforce@nhs.net .

We will be very happy to provide further details of roles available and can arrange an informal conversation with the appropriate clinical lead to answer any questions you may have and further explore what we can offer you.
