Communications Officer – Lister House Surgery

(Fixed Term for 1 year with a view to becoming permanent)

An opportunity has arisen for a full time Communication Officer to join our team and support, Lister House Surgery Derby over four sites, Pear Tree, Chellaston, Oakwood and Allenton.

You will be a great writer who is brimming with creative ideas and has experience of developing written and audio visual content for use online. You will be familiar with using video and photo editing software and social media, preferably within a professional context. You will have excellent organisational skills and the ability to coordinate projects, determine priorities, set deadlines, and see projects through completion.

Main responsibilities are:-

Maintain and enhance the Practice social media presence (Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn, Instagram) as well as our website and the Practice TV screens and display boards,

  • Support the development of clear, concise and highly impactful deliverables such as key messages to patients determining the optimal distribution through social media or other communication channels,
  • Co-ordinate and implement innovative social media campaigns, 
  • Develop, produce and disseminate high-quality print and digital communication materials,
  • Evaluate and monitor the impact of our communications campaigns by collating and analysing the relevant data,
  • Execute internal Practice messages through the appropriate channel & platform (e.g. setting up a blog) to ensure staff inclusivity,
  • Create and implement the relevant patients' surveys,
  • Take part to the PPG meetings (Patient Participation Group).

The ideal candidate will have:

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills,
  • High attention to details,
  • Analytical mind-set, highly numerate and able to work under pressure and prioritise whilst delivering quality work,
  • Reliable and responsive with a positive attitude and willingness to get involved without waiting to be asked,
  • A strong team player, excellent relationship builder with focus, energy and passion,
  • Excel - Advanced level (clean up data ready fro analysis, pivot table, VLOOKUP, dashboard creation, Visual Basic for applications (coding macros etc...)

The job may involve multi-site working, so a full driving license and access to a car would be an advantage.
