Overview
Heartwood Medical Practice is a well-established and respected GP Practice in the centre of Swadlincote, based within the modern Swadlincote Health Centre.
The team of 35 includes 4 Partner GPs, 2 Salaried GPs, Nurse Practitioners, Pharmacist, Practice Nurses, Health and Wellbeing Coach, Health Care Assistants and Administration team.
Heartwood has recently gone through a period of growth, reflected by an ongoing increase in team members. To complement our friendly and supportive team, we are seeking a dynamic, enthusiastic and forward-thinking GP. Ideally, this would be to cover 4 sessions per week, but may be open to negotiation for the right candidate and with potential to increase based on future increased practice size.
We are an innovative Partnership team, always seeking improvement in how the practice operates and services we offer. Therefore, we hope to attract an individual who also wishes to take an active role in the future development of General Practice, together with a desire to develop their own clinical interests to benefit the practice. There is a potential opportunity for Partnership for the right candidate.
Main duties of the job
Our GP team work on a triage model, with a mix of routine and on the day appointments, initially conducted by remote consultation with reserved capacity to see face to face where appropriate. All GPs take a share of Duty days, home visits, workflow admin and tasks. We are also a Teaching Practice for medical students from the University of Nottingham and share the mentoring across our GP team.
Ideally working 4 sessions over Monday, Tuesday and/or Friday, with potential flexibility in working hours.

- GP registered with the GMC
- Possess the right to work in the UK
- Included on NHS Performers list
