Cardinal Medical Practice, part of Suffolk Primary Care
(formerly Chesterfield Drive, Deben Road and Norwich Road)
Post: Practice Paramedic/visiting clinician
Location: Deben Road, Chesterfield Drive & Norwich Road
Hours: up to full time (37.5 hours Monday – Friday) in line with practice opening hours 8am – 6.30pm
Pay: Negotiable, depending on skills and experience
Contract: Permanent
We are looking to appoint a highly motivated individual with excellent clinical and communication skills to join our newly merged practice. This may particularly suit and appeal to paramedics, experienced A&E nurses, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, and those with experience of working in a community setting. The post-holder will ideally be an independent prescriber, although consideration will be given to supporting the right candidate to achieve prescriber status.
The role will be a mix of seeing patients in the acute clinic at the surgery and responding to visit requests from patients who need to be seen in their own home, taking the initial history, making a clinical assessment, diagnosing, treating and evaluating care. The post-holder will be joining a highly integrated team with a clear supervision and development structure that provides clinical support and advice.
The Cardinal Medical Practice is the result of a recent merger between Chesterfield Drive, Deben Road and Norwich Road practices, providing GP services to over 30,000 patients across Ipswich. We are also part of Suffolk Primary Care which is an innovative partnership of 11 like-minded practices across Suffolk covering 130,000 patients.
At Cardinal Medical Practice we operate an acute/same day service from Deben Road and routine/non-urgent care from Norwich Road and Chesterfield Drive. There are also plans to relocate to new purpose built premises on the former ‘Tooks Bakery’ site in 2024.
A driving licence and access to a vehicle is essential. Previous experience of working within a GP practice environment and a working knowledge of SystmOne would be an advantage.
We welcome all applicants with the relevant clinical skills, qualifications and proven experience who feel that they can actively contribute to both high quality patient care and the on-going development of the role with the ability to integrate well with our current team.
