Warwick House Medical Centre have an exciting opportunity for a Vasectomy Surgeon to join their team for 1 session per week (4.5 hours) on a permanent contract.
£85.00 per hour

The main duties of the job are to provide safe, effective clinical services for patients undergoing vasectomy and associated care.
Oversee the entire vasectomy process autonomously including reviewing referrals, counseling patients and undertaking risk assessments of suitability for the procedure in primary care.
Responsible for performing the vasectomy and adhering to infection control guidance, review of andrology results post procedure, review of any post procedure complications, regular clinical audit of the service and review of patient satisfaction survey.

Job responsibilities
Take an active role in the medical referrals process, assessing suitability for treatment, and facilitating referral or transfer to another provider or NHS hospital if necessary
counseling patients and undertaking risk assessments of suitability for the procedure in primary care
performing the vasectomy procedure autonomously and strictly adhering to infection control guidance and policy
review of andrology results post procedure
review of any post procedure complications
carry out regular clinical audit of the service and review of patient satisfaction survey.
take history, make appropriate physical examinations, agree the appropriate follow-up treatment and care plans.
maintain accurate record keeping on medical record system (EMIS Web).
work within all relevant practice policies and procedural guidelines e.g. infection control, chaperoning, risk management, health and safety.
Adhere to approved techniques and procedures including but not limited to PEC guidelines, all relevant policies, procedures and clinical guidance and GMC, Royal College of Surgeons and Faculty of Sexual and Reproductive Healthcare practice requirements
Carry out any and all emergency procedures deemed appropriate at the time and using professional judgement to determine and appropriate course of action
Provide ad hoc information, correspondence or reports as required
Represent the Vasectomy service internally and externally, attending clinical and non-clinical meetings as and when required
