Opportunity to work as a GP on the isle of man! The Ramsey Group Practice The Ramsey Group practice is a large General Practice providing medical care to a weighted population of 16,000 patients. It provides General Practice services to the North of the Island and there are over a dozen nursing homes/ residential care facilities within our catchment area. It is a busy 8 doctor practice with 4 Nurses, an Advanced Nurse Practitioner, 2 Health Care Attendant’s, a Primary Care Paramedic, a Pharmacy Technician and a large team of administrative staff. In addition to this we have a team of visiting pharmacists who visit the practice and there are plans to expand the team soon with a first contact Physiotherapist in conjunction with the Isle of Man Primary Care Network. We are also a training practice with an FY2, and all GPs provide supervision and support to the large number of allied healthcare professionals in the practice, with protected time during the week to undertake this. We also have weekly educational sessions on a Wednesday where turns are taken to bring in baked goods! The practice provides a large amount of additional services including minor surgery, joint infections, occipital nerve blocks, Botox for migraines, Mirena coil and Implanon insertion services, amongst others. The health service on the Isle of man is undergoing significant reform, and with that comes opportunities to develop a special interest for those who are interested. We currently have partners who are involved in national leadership roles. There are opportunities to develop leadership roles alongside ones in current existence such as clinical leads in Dermatology, Diabetes, MSKL medicine etc. We are looking for a vocationally trained GP wanted to join the Ramsey Group Practice on the Isle of Man. We are offering 4 to 8 sessions with a view to partnership after a 6-month mutual assessment period. We are also open to GPs who would prefer to undertake a salaried role! We will work with you to find what best suits you! The salary and superannuation scheme are very competitive, in excess to what is on offer in Ireland and the UK, and the Isle of Man offers a low personal income tax rate (effective tax rate <20%) There are daily flights to the UK and Ireland. No mandatory Out of hours (opt – in only), No extended surgery times, No Saturdays!
