Latham House Medical Practice, one of the UK’s largest doctors’ surgeries, are looking for a committed, innovative and enthusiastic Salaried General Practitioner to provide 6 – 8 sessions per week, to join our semi-rural Practice based in the town centre of Melton Mowbray. Conveniently situated within 30 minutes from Grantham and the A1, 40 minutes from Nottingham and Leicester, and 50 minutes from Peterborough; Melton Mowbray is a large market town offering all local amenities including easy access to schools and good quality housing. The town is in the fortunate position of being surrounded by picturesque villages, beautiful countryside and local activities like Rutland Water.
Working in conjunction with the Board and with the support of the multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to provide high quality primary care services for a mixed demographic population of ~36,000 patients.
The post will give the opportunity for professional development through a working plan that suits you, working within a dedicated team and building close links with the community and other neighbouring Practices. The Practice is part of Melton, Syston and the Vale Primary Care Network (PCN), joining forces with Jubilee Medical Practice, County Medical Practice and the Vale Medical Group to provide care that is fit for the future.

- Job plan that suits you, including working sessions between 07:00 to 19:00 throughout the week.

- 11 Partners, 10 Salaried GPs and a total of around 135 staff.
- 21 Practice Nurses, 1 Physician Associations, 1 Paramedic and 10 Health Care Assistants.
- A team of Nurse Practitioners who manage our urgent ‘on the day’ care.
- A dedicated Mental Health Nurse, supporting patients in crisis.
- We have GPs with special interests in dermatology, ENT and MSK.
- Pharmacists who manage patient medication queries and discharge letters.
- Fantastic admin team who provides efficient and friendly support.
- We regularly invest in collective and individual staff training.
- We are a Medical Academy working closely supporting student training.
- We are an Armed Forces Accredited Practice supporting service men and women and their families in our local community.
- We work closely with our established Primary Care Network Community Services and the CCG.
- We achieved a ‘Good’ CQC report in September 2018.
Our team includes a diverse range of clinicians. We have a strong team ethos across our Practice and successful candidates will be assigned a mentor when joining to help them settle into their new role, as well as ongoing clinical supervision.
