About the Role
The Humbleyard Practice is situated South of Norwich. We consist of three surgeries based in Cringleford, Hethersett and Mulbarton, and provide general medical services to approximately 21,600 patients. We are partially dispensing. The practice area is semi-rural just south of Norwich, which is a vibrant historical city. We are a high QOF achieving practice with a "Good" CQC rating. We have strong links to our local communities, LMC and University of East Anglia (UEA). We are both a training and a research practice offering multiple opportunities to an incoming salaried GP looking to join our team.
The post is for 6 sessions per week with flexibility around the days of the week and site location. We are mindful of all staff having a good work/life balance. We are looking for a confident, resilient, motivated, caring GP with a patient centred approach.
Working as part of our multidisciplinary team, you will have the opportunity to support and care for a diverse patient group.
The main responsibilities of the role include:
- Undertaking a variety of duties including surgery consultations, telephone consultations and queries, visiting patients at home, checking and signing repeat prescriptions and dealing with queries, paperwork, reports and correspondence in a timely fashion;
- Making professional, autonomous decisions in relation to presenting medical problems, whether self-referred or referred from other healthcare workers within the organisation;
- Assessing the healthcare needs of patients with undifferentiated and undiagnosed problems;
- Screening patients for disease risk factors and early signs of illness;
- Developing care plans for health in consultation with patients and in line with current practice disease management protocols;
- Providing health education;
- Recording clear consultation notes to agreed standards;
- Collecting data for audit purposes and complying with QOF requirements;
- Delivering enhanced services;
- Compiling and issuing computer-generated acute and repeat prescriptions;
- All general duties and responsibilities associated with a GP working within primary care.
About the Candidate
You will require the following qualifications:
- Fully qualified GP with GMC registration and be on the NHSE medical performers list
- Annual appraisal and revalidation (when appropriate)
Skills should include:
- Good understanding and experience of chronic disease management and primary prevention & screening services
- Ability to take responsibility for your own career development, learning and performance and are responsible for ensuring that all your mandatory training is in date
- Awareness of and compliance with all relevant practice policies/guidelines, e.g. prescribing, confidentiality, data protection, health and safety
- Commitment to life-long learning and audit to ensure evidence-based best practice
- Excellent inter-personal and communication skills with full awareness and regard to the highly confidential nature of the work
About Us
The clinical team consists of 6 GP partners, salaried GPs, ANPs, ECP, Physician Associate, clinical pharmacists, senior dispensers and clerks, Outreach Team (who look after our care homes and do home visits), research nurse, practice nurses, HCAs, first contact physio, social prescribers and mental health practitioner. We also have a full managerial and administrative team across all three sites. We are active members of the Ketts Oak Primary Care Network, which is a group of local practices who work together to deliver high quality primary health care to their patient populations. Being a large practice we have a great deal of experience and depth within our team and can provide high levels of support to newcomers joining us, as well as being an enjoyable and friendly place to work. - training practice - both medical students and GP Trainees

- directly employed team of three outreach nurses who look after care homes and do home visits for housebound patients
- supportive administrative team including dedicated coding and referral/secretarial teams
