Salaried GP – The Lydney Practice (part of GDOC Ltd)
The Lydney Practice is looking to expand their team with another friendly salaried GP to cover 4-10 sessions a week. Lydney is situated within the Royal Forest of Dean and the surrounding areas boast considerable natural beauty. The surgery is home to just over 7,800 patients and is highly respected within the locality.
This is a very exciting time for the surgery as we have teamed up with G DOC, our local GP Provider organisation owned and run by all the practices of Gloucestershire. This will make Lydney Surgery the Forest’s first ‘all salaried’ model. Being part of the G DOC family offers the ability to develop a portfolio career with additional professional opportunities available such as research, training, minor ops, sexual health, urgent care and community hospital medical cover.
The surgery will maintain its individuality with its own management team and practice staff. Doctors will work only in Lydney unless they choose to perform other roles within G DOC.
The rate of pay is extremely competitive with a 37.5-hour week contract offering a salary of £80,000+. Medical indemnity cover is also provided.
Annual leave entitlement is pro rata and will be 6 weeks per year plus bank holidays, with a further week's study leave.
We are working to make the GP day as enjoyable as possible. A clinical coding team reduces the amount of paperwork considerably and we are in the process of employing a clinical pharmacist and technician to reduce GP workflow further. The surgery employees an ANP who works alongside the on-call GP.
The practice is about to become a training hub for GPs and nursing staff. Candidates that have an interest in teaching will be given the opportunity to become Clinical and/or Educational Supervisors.
Planning is in progress for new purpose-built premises.
