Practice Nurse
24-30 Hours per week, Salary – Equivalent Band 6, Closing Date – 26th February 2023
We are looking for an additional practice nurse to join our well established team who shares our ethos of delivering good patient care for our community.
The successful candidate will have experience of working within a General Practice setting; be enthusiastic; self-motivated, and have a strong desire to assist in the development of the surgery.
This is a part-time role that requires a degree of flexibility including providing cover for holidays, sickness, and weekend influenza clinics.
We are a GMS practice with 7700 patients and 3 GP Partners, 4 Salaried GP's, 2 Nurses & 1 HCA plus both reception and admin teams. Our clinical system is SystmOne.
Key job responsibilities:
- Chronic Disease Management (Diabetes, Asthma, Hypertension, COPD, CKD, CVD etc)
- Cytology
- Travel Vaccinations
- ECGS
- 24hr Blood Pressure
- Venepuncture
- Basic wound care / ulcer care
- Removal of sutures
- Ear Care including syringing
- Routine immunisations/Childhood immunisations
- Contraception advice and reviews
- Maintain clinical records
- Requesting pathology tests
- There may be a requirement to undertake home visits
- Following agreed clinical protocols with referral to senior nurses or GPs as appropriate
Essential Criteria:
- NMC registered Nurse
- Up to date with CPD
- GCSE grade 4-9 (A-C) in English and Maths
- At least 2 years Practice Nurse experience
