Dinas Powis Medical Centre is seeking a Registered Nurse to join our vibrant, patient focused and innovative practice who are committed to the delivery of high quality, person centred care.
Dinas Powis Medical Centre is a purpose built practice and consists of approx. 11,000 patients with a supportive clinical team of 5 GP partners, 3 salaried GPs, 3 General Practice Nurses, a Health Care Support Worker and an exceptional administration team. The surgery is located just outside Cardiff in the The Vale region with a large mixed population and easily accessible with public transport and allocated parking.
Job Description
To provide and maintain a high standard of nursing care to the practice population with focus on the delivery of evidence-based practice for patients presenting with long-term conditions and acute problems. This includes screening, assessment , treatment and education and taking an active role in supporting the practice to maximise achievement against local and national targets in respect of the GMS contract and Enhanced Services. In addition, they will work collaboratively within the general practice team to support the delivery of policy and procedures and provide nursing leadership where required.
Experience
A Registered Nurse with up to date UK NMC Registration, nurses who have experience of working in a Primary Care setting would be preferable but not essential as full training will be provided.
Desirable
Knowledge of current policies, protocols and national targets. Experience of quality improvement and audit. Knowledge of Vision computer software. Preferable clinical skills to include but not essential:
Chronic Disease Management
Cytology
Women’s Health
Wound Management
Health Promotion
Men’s Health
Cardiovascular Disease Management
Travel Health
Venepuncture
Hours/Salary
Permanent position – 16 hours per week (could be increased)
Salary negotiated on experience
NHS Pension Scheme provided
