Job summary
We are seeking a Practice Nurse for up to 15 hours a week to join our experienced Nursing team. The role includes long-term condition management, cytology, vaccinations, health screening, health promotion. Experience of working in General Practice is preferred but not essential as training will be given to the successful applicant.
Main duties of the job
The successful applicant must be a Registered Nurse and have current NMC registration. The main duties are to provide general nursing services and support to the GPs, Nurses and patients at Hawthorn Surgery.
Overview of your organisation
Hawthorn Surgery has a list size of 6200 patients and is a Training Practice. We work from Wortley Beck Health Centre, a purpose built Health Centre in Lower Wortley, Leeds 12 which has on-site parking. Our friendly team includes our Practice Manager, GP Partners, Salaried GPs, Nurses, Healthcare Assistant, administrative and reception staff. We are also supported by our PCN team which includes pharmacists, physiotherapists and Social Prescribers. We are a Systm One practice.
Job description
The successful candidate will hold current NMC registration. We are looking for a nurse who is enthusiastic, organised and confident to work unsupervised in a treatment room. An enhanced DBS check will be required for this post.
The post is not open to candidates from outside the UK as we are not able to offer visa sponsorship.
The successful applicant may at times be asked to cover for colleagues annual leave and other absences.
Duties include;
- Phlebotomy
- Home visits
- Annual reviews
- Cervical screening
- ECGs
- Attend and participate in training and meetings as required
- Travel vaccinations
- Wound care/removal of sutures/clips
- Injections and vaccinations including childrens’ immunisations
- Asthma care
- Diabetes care
- COPD care
Long term condition management would be desirable but not essential.
