Lead GP – Castle St Medical Centre (Bolsover)

Following the promotion of our current Lead GP we are seeking to appoint an excellent leader to join our team.
Castle St is a welcoming surgery in the heart of Bolsover. The surgery is well-maintained and has been comprehensively upgraded. There are great road links via the A623 to Chesterfield, and M1 to wider areas.
The practice has a list of 3,700 patients, and is a well-regarded training practice. Patient feedback from the practice is excellent – see the GP Patient Survey (Link)
The team comprises of (excluding this post) 4x GPs and a nursing team, there is also additional clinical support from colleagues in the wider Trust and via the PCN.
The practice is a part of Derbyshire Community Health Services NHS Foundation Trust (DCHS).
Key details about the role:
- The role is advertised at 6.75 sessions / 30 hours per week (though there is some scope for discussion), of which we envisage 50% will be leadership time and 50% will be clinical.
- The Lead GP will work collaboratively with the Practice Manager to ensure that the practice is well-led, functioning safely, efficiently and effectively.
- They will be responsible for providing clinical leadership to the practice team, line-managing the practice's GPs and Lead Practice Nurse.
- The Lead GP will also form part of the General Practice Service's Service Management Team (SMT), helping to shape the direction of the service.
