Job Summary

We are looking for a salaried GP to join our modern, high-achieving friendly GP Training Practice, offering progressive general practice in a village setting.  We actively encourage special interests within our clinical team and are always open to new ideas and ways of working.  We would specially welcome a GP who is or would like to become an Educational Supervisor or Clinical Supervisor.

 

The role is to work 4 sessions per week with a starting salary of £10k per session per annum, dependant on experience.

The workload is well managed and the GP's are supported by an excellent clinical and clerical support team resulting in a well run practice, a manageable work life and a healthy work life balance.

We are located at the heart of Wingerworth village.  The practice premises are very modern and spacious, providing an excellent working environment.  As a training practice, we are very focused and organised with continuous training and development opportunities for successful applicants to contribute to the development of the next generation of GP's.

Main duties of the job

The main working week will be a mix of urgent and routine / online bookable appointments, both telephone and face to face with appointments being 15 minutes duration with a morning and evening clinic having the maximum of 15 appointment per session, both telephone and face to face with scheduled tea breaks morning and afternoon to facilitate wellbeing and teambuilding. Time is protected for debriefing registrars.  The majority of home visits are carried out by TeamUp, though we pride ourselves on offering continuity and high quality home based palliative care.

We have a fantastic clinical team with many and varied interests, we believe in developing our staff to their maximum potential and support people to develop their own area of interest and specialism.

We are a busy, friendly practice situated at the heart of Wingerworth.  Our current list size is around 7000 with the vast majority of patients residing in Wingerworth, Old Tupton and New Tupton. We are committed to working in a supportive and courteous manner in partnership with our patients.

We are a Training Practice hosting 4 Registrars at any one time.  The team consists of a GP Partner, Salaried GP's, Pharmacists, Nurse Prescriber, Nursing Associate, Treatment Room Nurse and Phlebotomist, as well as a full complement of admin staff including clinical coders.
