General Practice Nursing Lead
Are you an experienced GPN working in Derbyshire? Are you interested in having more variety in your working week? Would you like to apply your skills and expertise to support colleagues across the county?
An exciting opportunity has become available within The Hub Plus, for a GPN Lead to work within a small dynamic team to raise the profile of General Practice Nursing across the county. Supported by our experienced team, the successful candidate will help with GPN strategic development, promote the GPN role whilst supporting and growing GPN Leadership.
The Role
The Hub Plus is seeking a new GPN Lead. This is for 12-15 hours a week, this can be flexible around other commitments but must include a Monday or Tuesday (which are our core team days). The successful candidate will help create and drive forwards GPN Strategy, develop GPN leadership and help coalesce and raise the voice of GPNs across Derbyshire.
We recognise that taking on new leadership roles can feel daunting, the successful candidate will be supported by colleagues across The Hub Plus and ICB Quality Team to thrive in their role. We are very much looking for someone with passion, drive and experience to lead on this role with the ability to be self-motivated and prioritise the development of others.
Candidates must be a currently registered general practice nurse working within primary care in Derbyshire. Responsibilities
Working with The Hub Plus team, the successful candidate will have several key responsibilities including, but not limited to:
- Providing a link into The Hub Plus for GPNs and nurse practitioners
- Champion General Practice Nursing by promoting the role as a career destination for all aspirant, trainee and established nurses
- Evaluate training needs analysis to ensure The Hub Plus offers match GPN needs
- With support from The Hub Plus Medical Director; creation and developing the GPN Strategy
- Ensure workstreams focus on key areas of GPN recruitment, retention and supported retirement
- Promotion and growth of nursing placements in primary care along with the aspiration to increase and enhance quality learning environments across general practice. Use experience to support innovative and rotational placements.
- Line manage The Hub Plus GPN team including GPN Champion, New to Practice Lead and NA Ambassador (post pending)
- Represent The Hub Plus GPN workstream within local and regional training hub and GP leadership meetings
- Review career pathways and proactively seek new opportunities for GPNs in Derbyshire
The Offer
Hours: 12-15 hours weekly (to include a Monday and/or Tuesday)
Location: Hybrid – Base site RTC, RTC Business Park, London Road, Derby
Contract type: Fixed Term 12months with extension subject to funding, starting ASAP.
Pay: 43,472 to £50,056 (pro rata) dependent on experience.
