Job summary

Close to the South Downs National Park and West Sussex beaches, Avisford Medical Group are looking to recruit a Salaried GP for between 4 – 6 sessions per week at our friendly 2 site practice in West Sussex, situated between Littlehampton and Chichester. Our 2 surgeries are just 2 miles apart and equally sized.

GP's working at Avisford Medical Group will enjoy our supportive and welcoming atmosphere, working alongside 7 other GP's and a multidisciplinary team including: Physician Associate, Nurse Practitioners, Health Care Assistants, Paramedics and Paramedic Practitioners, Clinical Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technician, MSK First Contact Practitioners, Mental Health Social Prescribers and Social Prescribers, Care Coordinators and General Practice Assistants. We are able to accommodate flexible working in order to support other commitments.

Seeing (up to) 14 patients per session in 15min appointments over a 4 hour time period, morning and afternoons, we are flexible in our approach to supporting you working in the safest way possible. On duty days you will be supported by team of Paramedics, General Practice Assistants and Care Coordinators helping with the workload and provide hands on support for home visits.

We are a training practice for GP registrars, Physician Associate trainees and Medical Students. On occasion you might be asked to provide guidance and supervision when occasionally required, and if interested this role could be broadened to more formal trainer status.

As a training practice within our community, we provide GMS services to approximately 12,000 patients, using SystmOne. Technology solutions are at the heart of everyday patient care including use of Ardens tempates, Accurx communications tool and E-consult online consultation smart tool.

As a GP at the surgery, you will be supported by Clinical Pharmacy team for prescribing related issues, workflow team to manage letters and documents and admin team for referral support to reduce your admin burden.

We are supportive towards candidates who wish to progress their skills into specific areas of development and encourage professional development alongside service provision.

MDDUS membership alongside Crown indemnity is included with your employment.

Salary is dependent upon experience, but we are open to sessional rates of between £11,000 - £12,000. We offer the standard BMA contract with 6 weeks paid holiday and one week study leave per annum. Opportunities for professional development are supported.
