Ashley Centre Surgery is a busy GP Practice based in Epsom town centre with a list of 10,800+ patients. In 2021 we moved into a brand new state-of-the-art surgery.
We are seeking a dedicated, experienced, and proactive Assistant Practice Manager who will have lead responsibility for Patient Services and Facilities. As a member of the leadership team you will work alongside another Assistant Practice Manager who leads on Finance and Systems, to support the Partners and Practice Manager to oversee the smooth operation of our busy GP surgery. You will be responsible for managing the front-of-house reception services, ensuring the highest standard of patient experience, overseeing the surgery estate and facilities including health and safety and supporting the smooth day to day operation of the practice.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the day-to-day operations of patient services, ensuring a high standard of care and efficiency.
- Manage the estate and facilities of the practice, ensuring a safe, clean, and welcoming environment for patients and staff.
- Collaborate with the Practice Manager and Assistant Practice Manager (Finance and Systems) to develop and implement practice policies and procedures.
- Lead and support the reception team, fostering a positive and productive work environment.
- Handle patient feedback and complaints, ensuring timely and effective resolution.
- Coordinate with external service providers for maintenance and facility improvements.
- Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and CQC standards.
- Assist in the development and implementation of patient engagement strategies.
Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience in a healthcare leadership role or similar environment.
- Strong leadership and organisational skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and priorities effectively.
- Knowledge of CQC standards and health and safety regulations.
- Proficiency in using healthcare management software and systems.

A Disclosure and Barring Service check and disclosure will be required before appointment for all posts with access to children or vulnerable adults or where the post holder has access to patient information.
Job Types: Full-time or Part-time, Permanent
Pay: Up to £32,000.00 per year (pro-rata)
Expected hours: 28 – 37 per week 4-5 days per week
