We are currently seeking a talented and passionate Senior Clinical Lead GP to join our dynamic Senior Management team.

The role of Senior Clinical Lead GP is to provide strong, visible, professional leadership and focus for the delivery of excellent quality of care and outcomes for patients through the development of the clinical workforce whilst effectively supporting clinical governance.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide professional leadership to the six lead GPs working across Sussex Primary Care.
  • Provide direction and leadership on clinical education and training.
  • Be responsible for the delivery of the SPC clinical strategy
  • Develop clinical standardisation process across seven practices in partnership with the Head of Quality and Safety.
  • Lead a strong culture of patient safety and delivery of excellent patient experience, access and outcomes through the seven pillars of clinical governance including high professional standards in line with SPC governance framework, CQC and GMC regulations.
  • Drive the clinical team’s development through clinical supervision, appraisals and compliance with mandatory training.
  • Deliver assurance and compliance reporting to the SPC Board.
  • To actively promote a culture of continuous improvement and learning throughout SPC through the development and implementation of a Clinical Strategy.

We are looking for a GP who:

  • MRCGP Qualification
  • Registered on the GMC GP Register with licence to practice
  • On an NHS National performers list (England, Wales or Northern Ireland)
  • Commitment to and experience of working as part of a multi-disciplinary and skill mixed team environment
  • Experience of working to achieve excellent performance within Quality and Outcome Framework (QOF) and LCS delivery
  • A passion for healthcare
  • Professional supervision of GPs and the clinical team, including addressing professional performance issues
  • Motivated and committed to developing the knowledge and skills required for the role and for ongoing professional development
