Due to the forthcoming retirement of our current manager who has been in post for the last 20 years, an exciting opportunity has arisen for a full time Business Manager at the Northolme Practice.

Job Summary:
To manage and coordinate all aspects of practice functionality, motivating and managing staff, optimising efficiency, and financial performance, ensuring the practices achieves its long-term strategic objectives in a safe and effective working environment.
As Business Manager you will be expected to manage and co-ordinate
· all aspects of staffing and HR including recruitment staff development and appraisals
· business development, financial performance, payroll, and pension administration
· the production of performance data and targets
· ensure patient and practice standards are maintained, liaise with patients and co-ordinate any complaints
· ensure the practice is in line with CQC expectations and regulations
· oversee aspects of property bills and maintenance
· have active involvement in the Lower Valley Primary Care Network with the 4 other practices/practice managers
About us:
Located in a pleasant part of Halifax, working from Hipperholme and Northowram. We are a well-run, high achieving, 2 site friendly and supportive 6 partner training practice, supporting a team of salaried GP’s, Advanced Nurse Practitioners, Practice Nurses, Health Care Assistant and Phlebotomist.
The management team consists of two reception managers (one based at each site), a Practice Administrator, Administration Manager, IT Manager (clinical software SystmOne) and Clinical Information Manager who support the Business Manager in their roles in offering a full range of GMS services to our continually increasing patient population of 15,600
We are actively involved with our Primary Care Network (Lower Valley) where we have the use of a range of healthcare professionals including First Contact Physios, Paramedics, Social Prescribing Link Workers, Care Coordinators and Acute Visiting Service
The 5 practice managers have a strong and effective working communication link and have managed processes since the formation of Primary Care Networks and continue to do so until March 2022 on the appointment of the PCN Manager
Experience is preferable but not essential however a strong head for finance is essential and an understanding of the NHS management useful.
You will play an important role of supporting all staff and we are looking for a compassionate but robust leader with excellent team leadership skills.
The applicant will have the opportunity to shadow the existing Practice Manager prior to their retirement to ensure a smooth transition.
Full time 37 hours Monday – Friday
28 days annual leave plus bank holidays
Closing date - 28th February 2022

Salary - Dependant on experience with enrolment into the NHS Pension scheme
