Job summary
Dr Shimmins & Partners is a busy, GP surgery in Dartford, Kent. We are looking for an energetic, dedicated and caring Health Care Assistant to join our friendly nursing team. The successful candidate will be patient focused who has a desire to make a difference to the lives of our patients.
The HCA will be working under the direct supervision of our Nurse Lead and strictly in accordance with practice guidelines and protocols.
Ideally you will have had experience of working in Primary Care however full training will be given to the right candidate.
Main duties of the job
Phlebotomy
Health Checks
ECGs
6 – 8 week baby checks
Diabetic Foot checks
Basic in wound management essential
Suture removal
Pre filled vaccinations (B12 injections, pneumonia etc)
Clear and restock clinical consulting rooms
Ensure vaccines and cold chain storage monitoring and recording is carried out as per policies and protocols.
Help to raise awareness of health and well-being and how it can be promoted.

We are part of the Dartford Model Primary Care Network and are supported by a fantastic team of clinical pharmacists, First Contact Physios, Paramedics and Care Coordinators.

Qualifications
Essential
- GCSE in English and Maths
Desirable
- Qualified in Phlebotomy
- Qualified to NVQ level 3
